The village of Quambone is a remote village in the Coonamble Shire of New South Wales some 370 miles north-west of state capital Sydney, but just 35 miles west of Connamble. Despite being very isolated and having a population of barely 250, the village holds its own races under the direction of Marthaguy Picnic Race Club and the Quambone Picnic Race Club. The Marthaguy Picnic Club first held races on Tuesday 24th May 1910, with a second meeting on Tuesday 18th April 1911 which featured the Marthaguy Cup over 1 ¼ miles. Detailed race results from that second meeting are shown below. |
